Ariel is described as the ‘Lioness of God’ and ‘Angel for natural elements’. In this interpretation, she is somewhere between an ethereal showgirl from a bygone era and a battle-weary eco-warrior in distressed and tarnished armour. I’ve used elements found in the street and on the shoreline, including seabird feathers, waste paper, and fruit netting. My wonderful printer, Harwood King, has also added a smoky and feathery broken border, which adds to the otherworldly look and feel of the piece.
This giclee print is hand-finished with iridescent and metallic acrylic mediums.
