Enduring love feels complex, but also safe, peaceful and trustworthy. Layers of time, workings out, trial and error. Pain, pleasure, forgiveness and taking the next step together. My own romantic history is complex. I do feel I’ve finally found a love that endures – but that has been made possible because I have also found an enduring love and care for myself. I had to make the change I wanted to see in others – commitment, patience and self-compassion.
The original mixed media painting includes vintage sewing patterns, found ephemera, wax, tea, dried rose petals and sea-bird feathers.
